The Opening of Gallows Gallery in Perth attracted top-notch art appreciators including West Australian Premier Collin Barnett, Mosman Park Lord Mayor Ron Norris and WA Arts Minister John Day. "Gallows are usually know for executions," joked Day to the crowd including Kylie Hawkes and Lindy Trehern, referring to the fact that the opening fell on the same day Kevin Rudd was ousted as prime minister.

Gallows director Kathryn Stafford gave guests such as Lisa Milner and Brad Smyth a tour of the gallery's opening exhibition of works by West Australian and interstate artists.
